Our Saturday release is upon us, and it is one from R&R new boy, Dr. Mercy & The Acronyms of Disaster. If songs structured around guitars, riffs, ideas are your thing, then this instrumental effort may be just what you want to be listening to right now. 12 tracks brimming with ideas - and having been fortunate to hear the follow up, may I suggest that you jump on this right now! (side note: R&R is on another mini break - to Prague - so the next release will probably be in 7-10 days time)

Indiana's Dylan Ettinger has been a friend of Rack & Ruin for a while now, and so it gives me great pleasure to put this release out, and see his name on the roster. Not only that, but he will hopefully have a tape coming out very soon - so watch the "Shop" for more information! Rude boy.

Megazords Rack & Ruin career has taken more twists and turns than your average M. Night Shyamalan movie. Starting out as a regular noise monster, his sound has evolved into hypnotic trance like meditational music. I don't think there will be many people on the middle ground with regards to this music, but I'm sure that everyone will agree that this fascinating artist is sure to come back with another album, hugely different from the last. If you're a fan already - grab it - if you've never heard him - grab it - if you're not a fan, give it another go..... and relax. Side note: The final track on the album nearly never made it, it was a last minute addition, and in my opinion it is the best Megazord track to date - so good.

Richmond, Virginia's, Drums for Giants first EP offering for Rack & Ruin records is a wonderfully abstract piece of experimental music - manipulating the sounds into a glorious hybrid of drums and electronics. Exciting stuff.

Rack & Ruins first post-holiday release comes from the excellent Tyson Brinacombe. This playful release focuses entirely on the joys of the Casio-SK1, whilst many of us would waste our youth making belching noises down the sampler, it appears that Tyson put its powers to much better use!
14th August 2008
Rack & Ruin return from their summer holidays with news of Dylan Ettingers latest gig. Dylan will be playing with our SHDWPLY friends, Gary War, and Teeth Mountain, as well as being joined by Kill and Eat. Amazing line-up..... I just hope that your locality is closer than mine!

Predrag Nemic (aka Keep away from heat..., aka pndc) is a very busy man. Not only does he have a number of releases out on other labels, which incidently are receiving rave reviews, but he has the time to offer a gorgeous two track offering to Rack & Ruin. And what tracks! Whether you like post-rock, ambient, experimental pop, electronica, indie rock - there will be something for you in these two offerings. If you are new to his work, then try this EP as a sampler, and then be prepared to catch up on a back catalogue, that needs more attention.
